Under the Patronage of the University Presidency... Department of Student Dormitory Affairs Launches the “Safety Ambassadors” Team

Under the patronage of the University Presidency, and as part of its strategic plan to provide a safe and stable residential environment for students, the Department of Student Dormitory Affairs announced the formation of the “Safety Ambassadors” Team, composed of female students residing in the university dormitories.

The establishment of this team represents a proactive step toward enhancing a culture of preventive safety and raising awareness of crisis response mechanisms within the residential complexes. Team members will participate in a specialized and intensive training program in cooperation with the University Civil Defense Unit and the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, Karbala Branch.

The program includes both theoretical and practical training supervised by specialists in the following areas:

  • Safety and Fire Protection: Training on organized evacuation plans, rapid response to fire incidents, and the proper use of different types of fire extinguishers.
  • First Aid and Rescue: Equipping students with the skills needed to provide first aid in emergency and critical situations and to deal with injuries until medical teams arrive.
  • Crisis Management and Leadership Skills: Training students on how to guide others, manage panic, and maintain calm during emergency situations to ensure the safety of everyone.

The initiative aims to develop aware and responsible student leaders who are capable of making sound decisions during crises and emergencies. It seeks to transform students from passive recipients of information into active participants in protecting themselves and their fellow residents, thereby contributing to the creation of a safe, resilient, and exemplary residential environment within the university dormitories.
